Dear Prospective Delegates and Faculty Advisors, As Secretary-General for the eighth annual session of the Cornell Model United Nations Conference (CMUNC) - hosted by the Cornell International Affairs Society - I am pleased to welcome you to our conference website. I invite you to explore the information presented here and acquaint yourselves with the many unique facets of the CMUNC experience. The website has been organized in such a manner so as to facilitate ease of use and readily provide answers to the most commonly asked questions about the conference. If you are new to CMUNC, be sure to peruse the "About CMUNC" pages, which provide a high level overview of the conference: its aims, staff, and setting. New and seasoned participants alike will want to visit the "Conference Details" pages - which highlight pertinent logistical matters relating to conference attendance – as well as the "Committees" pages, which flesh out the core of the simulative environments offered at CMUNC 2010. The pages listed under the "Delegate Preparation Guide" are a fantastic resource to guide delegate research in the months prior to the conference. Finally, when your school is ready to register for the conference, advisors should please fill out the online registration form. A member of our conference staff will confirm this registration via email, as well as provide your school with additional attendance and payment information. If you have any questions whatsoever about the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact Director-General Max Richman through the "Contact Staff" page. The website will be continually updated with information as we approach conference time. These updates will be posted in the left-hand column of the site, so add CMUNC to your list of bookmarks and please continue to check back often. It is my sincere hope that you find the material presented here informative, helpful, and timely. Should you have any questions at all, please visit the Contact Staff page, which will direct you to the appropriate member of the secretariat. I look forward to meeting you in April; until then, happy browsing! Best regards, Brian T. Cannon |
